“KU KLUX KLAN: The Invisible Empire”

In 1965, CBS News produced and broadcast a segment on the history of the Ku Klux Klan.

The following sentiment was expressed during the broadcast: Because of it's secrecy the Klan can hold sway over a community. Their neighbors will not know they have become a Klansman, if some are policemen or sheriff deputies, their fellow officers will not know, if they are jurors, their fellow jurors will not know. Under the cloak of secrecy, the Klan can take over positions of influence and power.

As you watch the videos below, consider how present day events might be influenced by people in positions of influence and power today who may be members of the secret, invisible empire.
